I really enjoyed this book! Smart female heroines are one of my favorites, especially in Historical Romance. Violet is an awkward chemist, in a time where intelligent females were look down upon. I love the safe haven she created.
And goodness, Arthur. Strong, intuitive, swoony protector. With a few moments of laughter, you can easily fall in love with this story, the Hero and Heroine, and especially some of the side characters (who will be featured in future books!). The chemistry flies off the page.
This book has suspense and mystery as well, and as a reader you'll be trying to figure out who-done-it. It definitely caught me by surprise!
