đCassie's Reviewđ
This book had me laughing out loud so many times!
'"Life is too short, and too precious to dick around and not go after what you want." I snorted, "That should be embroidered on a throw pillow"'
Finley and Zeke find each other when they are both at a transition in their lives. Finley is going through a divorce with her cheating ex, and Zeke is on the search for his birth parents.
Zeke is a handsome IT professional, Cosplaying nerd, and he OWNS it! Finley's Grandmother, her grand-aunt, and godmother are absolutely hysterical. All I'll say is, there's a reason the Queen carries a handbag. 5 Stars!
đAshley's Reviewđ
âIt wonât be a new life until you start living it.â
Finley Granger needs a fresh start. After quitting her job and moving in with her grandmother, aunt and godmother, she gets that new start in Green Valley, Tennessee, where she gets a job at Green Valley Library and meets the mysterious Zeke.
ââYou think Iâm mysterious?â I nodded. âNo one seems to know anything about you.â âI know about me. All you had to do was ask.ââ
This was my first novel by the hilarious Katie Ashley. There were several laugh-out-loud scenes provided by the heroine herself and by her golden girls. I enjoyed both Finley and Zekeâs characters, and I loved the interactions between them. There was a lot of situational comedy that I could easily picture in my mind.
My only trouble with Shelf Awareness was that conflicts between our two main characters resolved so easily. Donât get me wrong, thatâs a nice change of pace from a lot of couples, it just highlighted to me that this book is a work of fiction. Aside from that minor detail, I really enjoyed this book. It was highly entertaining and a nice addition to the Green Valley Library Series.
đBlurbđ
After catching her husband in a compromising position, the last thing that Finley Granger wants is to enter the insanity that is the dating world. Sheâs dealing with enough upheaval: sheâs quit her job as a journalist in Atlanta to start over as a librarian in the backwoods town of Green Valley, Tennessee. But her grandmother has other ideas. When GramBea teams up with her sister, Dot, and their best friend, Estelle, Finley finds herself surrounded by a trio of well-meaning yet incredibly bumbling matchmakers.
In spite of their efforts, thereâs only one man sheâs curious about, and thatâs Zeke Masters, the libraryâs volunteer IT specialist. Sure, heâs 6â4â, impossibly built, ridiculously good-looking, and gets her nether regions tingling. However, itâs the tingle of her journalist spidey-senses that holds her attention most as she wonders why heâs on sabbatical from Seattle. Is he on lam, or on the run from a bad relationship? As Finley finds herself reluctantly drawn to the gorgeous IT guy, she canât help but wonder: should she indulge in a little rebound fun with the mysterious Zeke â or has she finally met her match?
