Shucked By Kate Canterbary

Happy Release Day!

Blurb

His best friend’s little sister is not an option.

No one ever accused Beckett Loew of being the nice Loew brother, especially not Sunny Du Jardin.

Stuck back home in the quirky town of Friendship, Rhode Island, Beckett is scrambling to save his family’s oyster bar and take care of his teenage brother. He doesn’t have time to deal with the beautiful, sunshine-y owner of the new vegan cafe next door too. His best friend’s little sister may be all grown up, but Sunny’s still a distracting pain in his side.

No one expects much from Sunny Du Jardin, especially not Beckett Loew.

She’s not worried about her older brother’s tall, dark, and broody best friend or the battles he insists on waging with her every day. She's not the same kid he teased years ago. Now, she composts his type for breakfast.

They’re all wrong for each other.

Bitter rivals.

Complete opposites.

Off limits.

Except they can’t keep their hands off each other.

They tell themselves it’s nothing more than a steamy summer fling until secrets spill and real trouble comes their way.

CW: chronic illness (epilepsy), mention of childhood bullying, putting the fun in dysfunctional families, parents who turn into accidental criminals, incarceration, open door spice, suspense and moments of peril.

Cassie's Review

4.5 Stars!

Did you love In a Jam? Then you should definitely pick up this book! This book takes place in the same place, Friendship, Rhode Island, and we even get a few on page sightings of Shay and Noah!

Sunny and Beckett are my favorite kind of enemies to romance couples. They have the best banter, call each other nicknames that wouldn’t be considered romantic, but Kate Canterbary makes you just fall in love them.

There’s a slight age gap, brothers best friend vibe, but mostly they just have the best love to argue foreplay.

“I didn’t know what I wanted to argue with Sunny about today but I’d figure that out when I found her.”

If I had to give you an example of what to expect from this book, I would kind of describe it like a Lucy Score book. You get so much more of the story. The small town vibes, the side characters that you just love, and you get to see the main characters tackling life together as a couple. Yes this is a longer book, but I enjoyed every moment of it.

Do I know or care who the next book is going to be about in this series? I have an an idea. But I’d be happy to just read about anything. Can’t wait!
